Surfing in Kuta
Clearly the most popular activity in Bali. Kuta beach is a good choice for beginner surfers because the surf bottom is safe. Two kilometers long coastline allows the surfers to spread, so that they can have a bit more space to themselves. This is good for the beginners practicing alone or taking an individual surfing class. There are plenty of surf camps in Kuta, where you can stay with other surfers and join surf parties. If you prefer staying in a hotel or a private villa, you can still join a surf school. This is a great wait to learn surfing and to meet people for solo travelers.
Kuta is famous for spinning nightlife. For a great party in Kuta go to Jl. Legian where there's a "strip" of nightclubs and bars within walking distance from each other. Skygarden is probably one of the most famous clubs in Kuta with it’s 4 storeys of bars and dance-floors featuring local and international DJs. Take advantage of the free entrance and happy hour until midnight! Or party on pirate ship at Bounty club just 5 minutes away with live music and pool tables. For something more laidback go to Apache Reggae Bar just next to it.

Located at the heart of Kuta, Sea Turtle Conservation Centre protects the sea turtles by preserving the eggs laid by the turtles at the beach and taking them to a protected hatchery. The turtles living here are called Olive Ridley turtles - the smallest of all the species. These cute creatures are very vulnerable and their population is decreasing due to the climate change and the fishing nets. Come save the baby turtles and appreciate the gift of life - the perfect reason to celebrate every day!
